Was in a bunch of rolling tarpon this morning. And as usual these surface slicing poons sure can tease. Lotsa fins and tails. Some within reach. But man, getting these kings to chew is a major challenge. One guide told me he soaked cut bait in front of these fish without getting a single bite. Yikes.
Rolling Tarpon
After a million five hundred casts I jumped two. One on a streamer, one on a popper. Unfortunately neither king was on for more than a few seconds. Then the wind came up and kicked my ass. Frustrating. Wish I could figure this deal out. I guess rolling tarpon are a roll of the dice.
